Wanda Mawhinney: New Works

The Artist

Wanda was born in southern Idaho and lived in Arizona for 35 years before moving to Port Ludlow, Wa. in 2005.

She is an abstract painter who loves to work with vibrant color, unusual design, bold composition and line. Her favorite medium is acrylic, although recently she has ventured into oils. She uses collage in her work to emphasize the overall effect.

Wanda is an successful experimental painter, every new canvas is an intuitive adventure for her. She has no preconceived ideas where to begin...but the results demonstrate her amazing journey. Her challenge is to use color and texture in building rich layers of paint while incorporating materials that fascinate her. Wanda says, " Sometimes the final piece surprises me."
